Hello,

I have access to one of the office-type column aquariums (roughly 12" diameter, 4-5' tall).

Putting all logistic issues aside (e.g. water flow, stacking the rock, etc.), what would grow in the bottom half? Would I be stuck with undesirable growth, or would a cleaner crew and good water conditions keep it relatively bare (but at least clean)?

Thanks.

talltang,

:welcome:

Right offhand I'd say the farther down you'd go the worse the undesirable crud algae etc would get no matter what cleaning crew you had. But worse IMO is the 1' diameter-that is mighty narrow 8O

T is correct. It would really be a crappy reef tank.
go freshwater and get a bunch of different water level fish. it would look really cool.

or make the tank into a really big skimmer.
