Printing the PDF's out on your own printer does look pretty sweet though and a number of people saw them at MACNA this past September. Printing to a good quality color laserjet printer that can handle duplex printing produces a very nice result. Granted our website gives pretty good printouts to begin with (the print style sheet removes all of the fluff) but the photos still do sometimes get cut in half during printing, which is a downside of printing stuff from the web.

Printing these out will be REALLY nice when it comes to wanting to print the issue out and taking it someplace. The printouts are neat, organized, and minimize both paper and ink usage -- and look pretty nice too.

If you can round up a few thousand more like yourself, we'd appreciate it Alas, print is really tough medium to succeed in these days. But I also agree that a physical magazine is really nice to have.

Half toyed with the idea of doing something with Lulu.com for printing. That interest you? That way if you wanted a printout you could order it and they'd print it and send it to you...

Dunno if that's "the" one, but you ahve the right idea

I can check out Lulu and see what the latest pricing is for a print version of the PDF. The last time I checked, which was about 6-9 months ago, doing 100% color was expensive. I do recall that a printed issue in 100% color was more than the per-issue cost of Coral Magazine. Black/white was more reasonable, but I'm thinking that a color print would be what the reader would want. Or am I off-base on that assumption?

Ah. Yeah, print on demand has been mulled over, but it's quite expensive.

Yeah, color would be the only way to actually get poeple to buy them. I know I'm not alone in this as I was with some one this last weekend who made the same comment about AAOL going to print
