I am starting a small tank and was thinking of going mostly with sps this time. I have had larger tanks, and rapid sps growth was never a concern.
But with a small tank I was wondering, if I limited my calcium limit to say around 300 to 350 versus the typical 400 usually recommended.
Would the sps still remain health, yet have a slower growth rate, so as to stay in scale with the tank size longer. Tank dia are 48" x 6" x 7"

Thanks Daniel

I think the problem would be more to due with the balance with ALK and PH. With a CA of 300 you would also have suppressed ALK. This has a tendency to cause odd growth patterns. Instead of branching SPS you get bulbus nubs. I would suggest just meeting natural sea water levels and maintain them
