Power compact question....

Someone refresh my memory, please. :?

Don't new PCs take a will to light up? I just got new bulbs and the Actinic is only lit on one side while the Daylight hasn't flinched.

I know the fixture's ok.

In 4 years of owning PC lighting, they've always just come on for me(maybe a half-second delay, but nothing noticeable). You may have defective bulbs.

Yeah, I've never had a break-in period on PC's either. If you are sure it is nothing else (wiring, pins, ballast, etc- you can take it to a LFS and have them try it on their set-up to double check other failure points), then it is probably the bulb...

Same thing happened to me when I bought a bulb from the local LFS. They tried to blame my light fixture, but it was the bulb. It would attempt to start for about a second only after I unpluged the unit and plugged it back in again before ultimately failing. I exchanged the bulb and the new one worked fine.
