I have a montipora digitata that was the ONLY coral to bleach out in the tank, it hasnt however lost its polyps or begun to deteriorate. Is there any documentation that bleached corals can regain their host algae?
Sure, I believe they can pick it up from other corals similarly releasing algae in the tank, also it might not have lost ALL the algae, just a significant portion such that the coral looks white to you and just needs to bounce back.
Ok I was wondering, it was just so random. The oral has begun to lose flesh around the base so Im watching it under the moonlights at night to see if theres a carnivorous bastard picking at it.
