I need to replace my Little Giant pumps and would like ideas on what to purchase. I am looking for something that runs quietly, is fairly cool (the Little Giants that I have will burn you if you touch them), is energy efficient (my husband whines about the power bills) and won't cost a fortune. I know I am asking a lot...
I currently have a Little Giant MDQX 3 for the return (1100 GPH) and a MDQX 2 (770 GPH) for the skimmer. The whole setup (HOB overflow, sump and skimmer) is from Lifereef and I believe the pumps came with it. The sump is etched 2000. My skimmer pump just fried yesterday and the return pump rattles even though I have replaced everything in the pump side of it. Guess I did pretty good if they are 8 years old but it is time for new ones...
