I have this fish in my marine tank and I need to ID. for security reason.
Fish is about 4 or 5 inches long, no aggresive and eat a lot. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you but it is not a blueline snapper, probably belongs to the family.
(I just check in the internet} I live in Miami but the fish was a gift from a Pet Shop who was unable to sell it because didn't know what fish was. So still want know what fish is it.

Looks like a Lagodon rhomboides.

My advice, as tempting as it might be don't accept gifts from LFS if they don't know what the hell it is, don't know if I'd really see that fish sold in stores, maybe someone went fishing off the coast and dumped it off.

Don't know what it is but it sure looks like something I ate before.

Next time when a LFS give you a gift, just remember the lesson of the Trojan Horse.

You might try posting a link to this thread in the Fish forum, and the Industry forum-those folks in the business might know what you have. Did the LFS say where they got it from?

I was able to ID. this fish after searching the internet for long time. The name is PINFISH (LAGODON RHOMBOIDES) . Thank you

Yup, its a pinfish alright. The bane of inshore live bait freelining. Bastards. Make great bait for very large carnivores, too. They can get about 10 inches long.

:P Pinfish I use Them as BaitFish You Can a Dozen for About Six Bucks.Still They are Pretty Great For Catching Florida Big Fish Should be no Problem in Your Tank.
