That's right. All of zoos have been shrinking back to nothing over the last few months. Before that, they were spreading at a good pace. They still have their color. Some are not opening. Some have just disappeared over the last months.

Do I have too much light on them? They are bright green/orange. THe others are pink centers with red brown 'bodies.' Nitrates have been kind of high, but I have brought them down to <10ppm. Everything else tests fine. My temp looks like about 76-77F. Alk normal. I run Phosban 24-7 as well as Bourneman act. carbon. I add Kent Ess. Elements biweekly at recommended dosage. I also add Two Little Fishies two pt Ca/Alk additive as needed. They are fairly high in the tank under 14000K 250W halide/T5 act fixture suspended about 12 inches above the tank.

HELP!

Make sure you dont have any predators,

http://www.zoaid.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=384

I have zoas in my sons tank and they love lots of light. The only ones I found that did worse under more light were my sons purple death palys, they browned when under to much light.

Other then predators make sure nothing is getting on them, such as some of the carbon granules. I know that the Borneman stuff is pretty fine and if it gets in the tank could bother them.

I don't see anything bothering them. They're not browning out either - still fluorescent green, orange, pink. Just shriveling up.

Ben, that link has some great all around info, thanks! ufotofu, if nothing has changed in the tank, the only thing that comes to mind is to try looking at the colony after the lights are out for a while with a flashlight. Perhaps something is chewing on them after lights out.

Yeah, that was a great link. I'll definitely be tuned after lights out. Only thing I can think is the vermetid snails feasting. Haven't seen them, though. I did have a problem with the little starfish. I camped out after dark and snagged about 100 of them in one week about a month ago.

See now I have tons of asterina in my nano, and my zoas/palys are fine the stars just munch film off the glass. Now I'm all paranoid 8O

I began getting worried about the asterinas when I found them munching on the tissue of my candy canes. So, I just remove them when I see them on something easy to grab.
