Replacing / upgrading a recirc pump

so, i have a good octopus 150 recirc skimmer that does a good job... but i can't leave well enough alone.

Is it possible to simply replace the recirc pump wiht a more effective one and up the performance of my skimmer?!

the current pump is OTC 2000

... 200oL/Hr.

any suggestions?

i guess i could just add another one like the deltec ones.. but id rather not have to cut into my acrylic tube.

what can i do ?

Did you try the meshwheel upgrade? If not, Id try it first. Alot cheaper.

Also try to make your air inlet on the venturi wider. I think after you do all the little (cheap) upgrades then see if you still need that pump.

Oh yea, If you do buy the pump consider the same on to do the 2 pump recirc. Use some Uniseals and its very easy.

i thought about just adding another.. but i really dont want to drill into my acrylic housing. I can see how it wouldn't take much to crack it.
