if something were putting small amount of electricity into the water to shock the fish, would i be able to feel it?

i don't know if it was the position of my arm around the canopy, or if i really felt a shock...

how sensitive are fish to electricity? i was trying to take some photos last night, and every time i turned on the camera, the sailfin went nuts. hiding and zooming around... turn it off, and she stops. on, nuts. off, stop....

tonight. nothing.

Well I always know when I get a bad connection when I have a hangnail or other type of cut or nick on my finger... that's one great way to test

I question how much fish would feel however, in order for electricity to actually flow there needs to be a ground, when you get shocked, it's usually due to being grounded in some way (really great if you have water dripped all over the floor ), with fish however they're in their environment, and there pretty much insulated from the outside. Only way I can think otherwise is if you have an external pump, or some cord that's frayed yet in the water (you'd know then).

i also think there is a high amount of electricity in this apartment.
we were talking about it last night. we think we can feel it......

My fish (esp. my Tomini Tang) used to freak out when I brought out the camera. I think it was because it is bright and shiny and roughly the same dimensions as a barracuda's face.

pretty much all electrical devices will 'leak' electricity into a tank via induction:

When I was getting electricity leaking into the tank I would always feel it more around cuts. However since my last episode I got a multimeter. I made checking for current much easier than my plunging my hand in tank.

Also, whenever I have guests to the house and their kids want to touch the water, or my own, I always check first. God forbid I let a child stick their hand in and they get zapped!
