I used to be an auto tech for many years. I was always looking for a solvent to "melt" cured rtv silicon. The only thing I found that actually would soften it at all was a carb/throttle body cleaner called 2+2. Probably one of the most caustic chemicals I have ever been in contact with. Also a chemical called MEK(methly-ethyl-ketone) may soften it up over time.
No, the silicon is such a good material that there is not many chemical that can break it down. Don't you wish it dissolves like sugar in cheap solvent like water? but then it would be useless.
My guess is that HF may do the trick. If you think MEK is nasty enough, stay away from HF.
Before I busted my knee up, yes. Deal fell through tho . Besides, I am keeping busy by setting up a nano and peeling the cured silicone off my hands
