Just snapping some pics. tonight. I bought this red monti frag on 7-15-08 from my local LFS for $20. It is growing really fast and I am very happy with the view from the top!

Those are some nice fast growing corals. I like when people get other color caps and grow them together. You have some nice growth from yours, grats.

Hey Ben, I will get a FTS shot this weekend. I finally have a little time to play with my tank! Just got married and lots of work crap going on.

Here are some FTS. I took the pics tonight with an old Nikon L11. Unfortunately my good camera got swamped on my honeymoon(left it in my swimtrunk pocket-oops, too much rum punch)

Looks nice, its really coming together well for ya, I remember your build in the wall thread now. Have you thought about painting the back of the tank black or deep blue or something?

Thanks Ben. I am going to cover the back someway. I was thinking a blue piece of posterboard or something. I want it to be easily removable so I can have visibility of the back of the tank. I tried blue window tint, but it really didn't work out. Any ideas??

I dont know what other backings you can use. Most of the time salt drips behind them and then it takes away from the look. In TRA vol 3 they show some tanks with internalplastic sheeting that provides a solid background color, hides power cables, and can be simply pulled out and wiped down when algea builds up on it. I dont know how well that really works never actually trying it myself. I perfer just to paint mine since I cant get behind mine to work on anyhow.

Very nice. How old it that tank if you don't mind me asking?

I started the tank on 5-15-08. The first picture was taken in July with just a couple of fish. The second(August) is when I first added coral. The third is a few days ago.

Very nice!! :D You know, I really like the plastic cutting board look. It makes the tank look so clean and neat. My friend did the same thing to his tank when he set it up. I was also thinking of doing it but went with the deep sand bed theory wich I am a little sceptical on.

Anyway, nice job.

The only problem with the bare bottom is up close, is looks like crap. Lots of tube worms and stuff. A Friend of mine used black starboard, and it was covered with coraline almost instantly.
I guess if you have enought plate corals and such to cover the whole bottom, it would look pretty good.

Oh, never knew that. It still looks good from far away though. Will Zoanthids grow on it like a carpet? That might be really cool.
