tincture iodine

Now I'm living in Mexico and I could not find lugol's solution. I found tincture iodine, do you know how I can dose it... a drop in 100 gallons could be enough? Thanks

My first question would be .. can you TEST your iodine levels. You shouldnt add anything that you can't test for.

Here is some info for you

Tincture of Iodine is I2, alcohol, and water. The alcohol is used to keep the iodine dissolved into solution. Tincture of iodine is the least desirable method of adding iodine to your tank, it is acceptable for use as an iodine "dip".
