So I have the before and after pictures of my sump that I am now using KALK mix for my onto-top off unit on. It is a gravity fed system from the KENT jug located above the sump. If there is anything you see that needs altercations, please let me know.

Sounds like you're already thinking what I'd suggest. - Move away from the gravity dripper to a dosing pump.

Otherwise I'm not seeing anything that jumps right out...

Just out of curiosity, why are you "anti" gravity fed top-off system. I would rather not spend the money on a doser when i am only going to be upgrading again when I move out.

Oh, I'm not "anti" on it.. - You asked for tips (which pretty much equals opinions) and this is mine.

See the ghetto gravity drip on my work nano?? - This is not the work of an anti gravity drip man... ;)

Its just a convenience / confidence thing for me. I know when I set a dosing pump its going to drip the rate I set it to and thats that. Gravity drippers are inconsistent. Even if you get a good "feel" for them they'll eventually betray you and you have to tinker around with them again to get them dialed back in. And even then they can change just a few minutes after you THINK you've got it dialed in.

You can also find dosers that cover high and low ranges that'll suit you for just about any realistically sized tank. I picked one off of eBay for around $60 that lasted me for 4 or 5 years. (From 30g to 10g to 75g back down to 12g..) It was well worth it for me because I knew I could dial in a rate that would keep the tank reasonably hydrated while I was away for several days.

And just before sending this I picked off a newer replacement off eBay for $85 shipped. Thanks for the reminder that I should get one since I'm starting back up w/ a 24g nanocube at home.. :P

I'm not a huge fan of drips because they will become clogged.

I'm not a huge fan of dosers because your evaporation is not consistent. Last week I was ~2.5 gal/day. I've been evap'ing 4 gal/day this week though. If you're around to bump it up and down, great. If not, then I would go with a system designed to accomodate such flucuations. Float valves (Gasp!) or float switches get my vote.
