a gall crab? I got a new acan colony in today and pulled this one out after the dip, it died. I put the colony in the tank and was looking as it about 30 minutes later and notice a smaller one. They both had holes inbetween acan polyps. I pulled them out with the tip of a knife.

Anyhow any risk there is more, or will spread. Do they harm the coral or just live in it, and are they gall crabs?

Here is a pic of the colony and the smaller crab, the smaller crab came from the right hole in the colony. The colony was just put back in the tank when I took the shot, so I am not sure how visable these holes are when the acan inflates.

They look like gall crabs to me and are pretty harmless. I encounter them quite a bit when fragging LPS corals.

That's an amazing looking coral BTW.

Yeah I gotta post some inflated pics it amazing, Ive been following your build thread and you got some sweet LPS pieces in too! I dont have a local place as good as tropicorum. I got it from AustinAquafarms, gotta say I have been very happy with them. I was late picking my fedex shipment up this time and Matt from AAF called me, left me a message on my cell. He was only going to be in for a few more hours so left me his work and cell #'s. I never called him back and when I checked my email he had e-mailed me also to make sure everything arrived healthy. This was impressive to me since I usually order and never hear from these companys.

Anyhow Ill post some pics tonight.

Heres some updated shots, I think they are a bit grainy and overexposed or something. I was trying to use high F stops to increase the DOF. Theres one of a monti frag too.
