I have a 46 gal with a 20 gal sump and I'm getting sick of the 2 part additives everyday. Is a calcium reactor on a 46 gal tank possible? Seems like dialing it in would be a nightmare. If this is possible what brand would be recomended? Thanks.
It's very possible and not hard to dial in on your tank size. I like Deltecs because they are simple to use and maintain (twist top is muy bueno!), but they are expensive. Most Ca reactors from the major manufacturers work fine. It's not a very complicated device
Another option instead of a Ca Reactor is 2 part with some peristalic pumps, slow drip the solution, basically does the same thing (in the end) as a Ca Reactor. Matt, posted a place with some decent looking ones without the aquarium pricetag slapped on it.
I use a DIY 2 part now that rocks, (please don't tear me a new one  ) but I'm starting Zeo and more stable parameters are key. I also like the idea of setting a reactor and letting it go as I will be doing plenty of dosing for Zeo already. I will say that in 5 days my trates have gone from 0.2 to 0. It may well be snake oil, but I'm gonna give it 1 year as it not too expensive for a tank my size. Thanks guys.
