How quickly should the pump run?

Hi,

Sorry if this is a silly question!

I have a 180 litre salt water aquarium with a V2 400 Protein Skimmer and a Fluval 406 Filtrer system.

Im fine with the protein skimmer settings but how quickly would you recommend the filter to run?

Well a Fluval canister filter has a predetermined flow rate... the only way to determine how quickly it flows is by throttling back the valves on the tubing. So if you want to slow the flow, just turn the tube knobs to cut some flow... but if you're going to do this, make sure you leave the intake side wide open, and restrict just the output side.

All that being said, I'd just leave 'er wide open
