Or, he can start using my WELL water to mix up his saltwater, and he'll be wondering how to bring those levels down instead of up.beaslbob":2zrz1wcd said:according to this calculator:

A 100g tank would require 8 teaspoons (or 1.3 Oz) of baking soda to raise the alk from 6.7 dkh to 10 dkh.
What would also lower your calcium a bit and even the magnesium.
So a 50g tank would take 4 teaspoons and so on.
Calcium would balance out at about 435ppm
So you can use the calculator for your tank and just add the baking soda over a couple of days and you should be fine.
Then you can start a diy two part to maintain all that.

The best way is always to do water changes till your parameters are normal.
THEN begin regular dosing to keep up CA, ALK, MG etc. using additives. Always start slow.

To me it is best to do a one time correction and then to do the dosing to maintain those parameters.
Sure-Iif you want continue the water changes. Just don't be surprised when the dosing is required anyway.
