I have a Euro Reef CS6-2+ Am I reading the information correctly when it says that the water lvl in the skimmer compartment should be between 6 and 8 inches? Thats pretty shallow and doesn't leave much room for evap over the course of a day.

I don't have my ES5-2 running anymore but when I did I placed the skimmer on a stand inside the sump to elevate it to about that height.

BUT.... I also had my return pump located in a different chamber that worked out to be the lowest point in the system which means it took the water level changes from evap and not the chamber that held the skimmer.

I'm guessing a sump redesign is not something you were looking to do though, eh?

ugh, you could've just raised 'er up on PVC and eggcrate, ya know? BUT I suppose a complete sump redesign is more fun?

And gave up on the Octopus, huh? Sorry to hear that, but enjoy the ER!
