Groovy, but yeah I always thought there should be some prior art argument that squashes any patents of a company that claims to have built something that works. Moonlights being the most simplistic of examples.

That being said, I guess PFO laid off workers so they can fight this? I mean no reason keeping workers on the dime if you're not making anything.

Well PFO has been good to reefers over the long haul and if Orbitec ever comes out with LED lighting for the aquarium we should all ban their product line. JMO

I'll not prevent anyone from making their own choices concerning lighting, by banning any company's product, but I certainly plan on boycotting any and all products from Orbitec.

That's bogus and one of many examples why I do not go to GBD (reef builders is much better IMO). GBD blew it big time by posting some of that (Sanjay's deposition is a prime example). Giving out people home addresses via document is just weak. He should have had a little more tact and at bare minimum paraphrased it leaving details like lawyers and addresses out. The last thing this case needs is reefers contacting the lawyers.

Well, PFO's misfortune may be her chance to shine and make a buck. Let's hope she can pick up where PFO will most likely leave off. I will be in the market for new lighting soon and they will be one of the places I look to first.

Aquatic Lighting Systems? Jeff Katz if I remember correctly? He did, I built it for him in '96 in exchange for some halides.

[Edit: Nevermind, just read Shane's post. Surprised they're using the same initials as another existing aquarium lighting company, though. Or did the other ALS fold when I wasn't looking?]
