Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate

Has anyone used this to increase alk.? I bought some soda ash(sodium carbonate) from my local pool supply store today. I have been using soda ash for years to keep my alk. levels proper. The owner of the store claims Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate will raise alk. without affecting PH. Has anyone tried??

Baking soda (Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate) is often used in reef tank for alk. There is an article about it by Randy a few years ago.

Got it. I never knew sodium bicarbonate and sodium hydrogen carbonate were the same thing. Thanks

You tank have a high concentration of dihydrogen monoxide, and these are very dangerous substance.

Soda ash will temp raise pH.
