Please help with the following two (2) questions/concerns i have:

1. I'd like to know if anyone has any issues with post 2006 model Nanocube 24 cracking after a few months of use.?

2. I just picked up a odyssea 24" 150watt MH with (2) 24" T5 HO. It has a built in ballast, so it weights about 20-25lbs. I wanted to know if that would be too much stress to set on top of the tank causing it to crack over time.?

yeah 25 lbs are too much stress on the aquarium edges. You should look into hanging it from the ceiling, that might be a better solution. Best of luck

That amount of weight should have no bearing whatsoever on the tanks' structural integrity. The weight of the lights are sitting on the edge of the glass sitting vertically. This orientation of the glass offers the most 'tensile' strength.

Another point, 20-25 lbs is only equivalent to about 3 gallons of saltwater.

Thanks for everbody's input. I have decided to sit the fixture on my tank, as that is my preferred option. Also, MasterSwimmer made some great points which concur with a lot of other people's opinions.

fingers are crossed,
Kenny
