Does Coralline Hibernate?

I’m cycling/curing some old rock that was saved for the new tank. In many cases it still shows some faded pink and purple coloration. Figure it’s been dry for about 5 or 6 years now. Does the coralline come back? Or does it produce any kind of spore like structures that can be revived?

not that I am aware of. It's simple enough to get live coraline from anyone who is scraping their tank down.

not looking to populate the tank that way.

The only time I used dead rock in a 10g QT tank resulted in hair algae, but no coralline :lol:

No. Once it dries, it dies.
