I want to move my tank about 1 foot forward and 1 foot to the side. I obviously can't move it myself without disturbing the aquascaping. The aquascaping probably wont be safe even if i had extra hands.....So I was thinking  What if I got a shop jack, you know the one with the wheels and put it on it's side? I will have more control of the movement and can get some wood to stabilize the movement against the wall and against the tank stand.
Any thoughts or is this a :iamwithst thread.

that a project, I have a 265g tank on wall to wall carpet floor. I move it cross the room. the best thing to do take 50% water out and if you could buy moverman from homedepot lift the corner of the tank put the moverman under and slide the tank were you want. p.s you need strong friends to help out .
good luck my back still hurt from it

When I setup my last reef tank, 58gal, I placed slider underneath the stand, one on each corner. When I upgraded my tank I had to move the old tank out of the way. I took out half the water, some of the LR and removed the sump from underneath the stand. The tank slide pretty easy.

By the way I have wood floors and the sliders probably would have worked better on a rug or carpet.

One question , why are you moving it ? Is it worth it for the end result or not that another thing to consider.

Brought a new drawer type cabinet to house my chiller, rodi water, and all of my supplies. (The chiller will have ventilation). First pic is the cabinet second pic is where I want it to go ( the ranco is off by 2 degrees. needs calibration). So that's why I want to move it, also want to over it a few inches from my wall for temp reasons as well.

move

i built my stand 62g tank 24g sump with 6 slider's under it, i can leavage move mine. maybe tap some L shaped brackets under stand and put slider's under. do as much of a water change as possible, sump and tank. it will only be for a few minute's. i moved mine 4" from wall already. due to plumbing.

It's done I use the sliders, a tire jack and wood to evenly spread the force of the jack and not stress the stand... All was good except for a small leak that I will take care of tommorw... I will post tommorow and show a pic. Of the outcome... Good Night Guys..

The leak was from the chiller, one drop like every 5 seconds and when i woke up in the morning it was gone... Kicking me while I'm down.. Not nice:(

Mods this can now be closed mission accomplished.
