Hey guys, I sold my RO/DI unit back when I had to take down everything and now I need a new one. Its for a 200 gal system and I'd prefer it had a hose bib connector. Any good online stores you've dealt with? My local LFS puts a new meaning to the term Markup.

I just bought a new one, which I love. It's a little more $ but IMO its worth it. http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant ... =Vertex-RO

The vertex one has the booster pump top mounted, for my house I have to have a booster or the pressure is too low. The booster pump on it is super quiet, my old one was bit loud. This unit puts out a 1:1 ratio so I dont have a ton of waste water. It also auto flushs the membrane and sends the flush water out the waste line which extends the life of the membrane. I had a flush valve on my old unit but almost never used it. This one does it for you every two hours. It also has a nice build in TDS moniter. It is $299, so not the cheapest but I think its a well organized, well built unit and is worth the price. The vertex unit has a built in auto shut off for the unit and booster pump. It has a built in pressure gauge, basically all teh works and came with a bunch of ways to connect it. It is a 100gpd unit.

If I bought everything from somewhere like the filter guys, to make the same system I got with the vertex it would add up to $355.00 I don't know if you need a booster pump or anything like that and if not one of the cheaper units might be the way to go. If you need all the accessorys I would consider the vertex unit. I looked at the Aquatic life one as well from marinedepot but at $399, and the fact you can't see the canisters I went with the vertex.

Thanks for the advice guys. Hey Ben thanks for the info I'll check it out. Thats not too far out of my price range. I shouldnt need an additional pump our water pressure's pretty good.

Yeah if you don't need the booster pump then the value of these units goes way down, and you are just as well off with one of the cheaper units. The fact I needed a pump and wanted an oganized solution was a big selling point for me on the vertex.

and you can insert ANY size filter you want since its all standard parts...so if you want 25gpd or 100gpd all you need is different membrane and fire the pump up...

Don't you need a restrictor valve to match the membrane?
