I freshwater dip any and all frags going in my tank now, but I probably should do more than that. I got a huge infestation of flat worms in my old tank last year and it was a total PITA to get rid of them. As far as acclimation, I use a ghetto'd together drip system that uses airline hose, airline control valves (to control the drip rate) and airline suction cups (to keep the hose in the bucket), total cost $1.25 or so :)

Quarantine protocol--30 days DISEASE FREE. Bare or nearly bare tank.

Acclimation techniques are derived from methods while working import/export, so they are for what were usually extremely stressed animals. Very similar to what Lawdawg outlined, with pre-testing of bag water to determine most important parameter in my experience, pH. Depending on disparity between bag and system parameters, I'll do a drip acclimation of anywhere from 1-4 hours. If there is no difference, then as long as system temperature is warmer, then they get drained and dropped in.

NEVER add bag water to your QT or display! By net or hand.

I did revive, and/or TMPCC dips as instructed follewed by a proper length interceptor dip, followed by time in QT before they would go in the main tank. I was doing SPS so freshwater dips was a no non. I would also break the frag off its mount if it came mounted and toss the mount in the trash.

I do iodine dips and FWE dips for all my corals, and sometimes freshwater dips. I remove most of the rock I can now since that is where most of the pests hide.
