Well the common name for it is 2-part additive, but in fact you also want to make sure your magnesium is at an appropriate level as well.

As to the 4 parts not quite sure, you'll definitely have cal, alk, mag ... maybe they threw in an extra one? Is there any labeling on the packages?

You get the following:
# 1 gallon of Calcium (7lbs)
# 1 gallon of Alkalinity (7lbs)
# 1 gallon of Magnesium Chloride (6lbs)
# 1 gallon of Magnesium Sulfate (8lbs)

You use 3 cups of MgSO4 and 5 cups of MgCl to make your Mg solution.

I think (not sure) you can change the mixture ratio for Mg depending on your tank's pH. I might be thinking of something else though ;)

Paraphrasing Dr. Holmes-Farley

Thh "two part" is actually a 3-part because mixing epsom salts with the calcium chloride will precipitate calcium sulfate.

You could add magnesium chloride to the calcium chloride and have a kinda 2-part but that would might deplete sulfate over time.

As stated above the magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate are mixed into the same 1g magnesium suppliment.
