With the bad economy and having been laid off I find myself looking for bargains. Anybody else drive across town to save a few bucks for your reef keeping supplies. Salt, additives, test kits etc.

And how valuable is your time. I won't take a hour off work to save $5, for example.

For me it's more that I keep an eye on my favorite LFS with websites and order reduced cost coral from them when they come up, rather than just buying what I'd like to buy (it's being married and thus having an auditor for my hobby that's prompted this frugality  ).

Sometimes going out of your way to save money cost more than what you save. IRS milage rate is $.50/mile. That covers gas and care. For giggles take the total milage of the trip times the IRS rate and the amount of extra time it took and charge yourself minimum wage and see if you came out ahead.
