I tore down my tank because of a range of problems that I couldn't control with huge water changes. There was simply no point fighting a lost battle. I lost most of my livestock in the old tank or during the transition :( Here is my teardown thread.

And here is rebuild tank thread. :) The tank is fully cleaned and sanitized, and now I'm starting the process of filling with RO/DI water. Almost there! 8) The rebuild process was extremely tiring, but it was totally worth it. I'm geeked up about the new (old) tank. I only have 100 lbs of Totoka rock curing as I am aiming for a very open, zen-like aquascape. I'll update this thread (I promise!) as I make progress.

Here's a link to my first build thread.

Last photo for today. As I said, I replumbed everything. You can see in my first picture that I no longer am using the Oceans Motions Super Squirt water distribution device. I've decided to go simple ... a T feeding both rear corners of the tank, now each with a valve so I can control flow distribution. I'm using the two-way 1" output nozzles from Oceans Motions instead of the my previous single output nozzle. I'm hoping this cuts down on surface slick collecting in certain corrners.

Nice Len, tank looks great! I like those adjustable outputs on the corners and all the gray PVC looks real clean.

Ok, equipment/stand/sump pics. So clean (though wiring is messy since lots of stuff still needs to be routed and plugged in).

My Deltec AP851, cleaner then it's ever been in 3 years. The front is a BARR Aquatics kalkreactor chamber with a Ecotech stirrer below it.

My new Panworld 100PX-X, Litermeter3 (with an auxiliary pump that I don't use :P), and my Aquacontroller 3. The Panworld sits on a vibration reduction product called Vibrapods.

My two DC8 (for the controller) and my overflow plumbing. Left side has a true union ball valve that controls the drain flow. Right side is for the return plumbing (with flapper style check valve). The top of the media reactor is visible bottom right. And FW reservoir is the thing on the very left. Note the subframes in my cabinet to make it stronger :)

Did I mention how clean my skimmer is? ;)
FYI: skimmer is fed by a Eheim 1262 which feeds the chiller first (outdoors), then comes back in to feed the skimmer.

Wow Len, you a brave man for keeping your DC8s inside the cabinet so close to the sump like that... and by brave I mean potentially foolish ;)

Unless the wood shatters or screws magically come undone, the DC8s aren't falling into the water. And only other way they get wet is if my main pump's plumbing comes loose, in which case I'd be seriously screwed one way or another. Oh, they're on GFCI. It's never tripped, and no water (or salt creep) ever reaches the outlets.

Wow I can't imagine why you weren't motivated before to post photos and do a build thread =)
