hope this finds everyone well. It's been awhile. i've neglected y'all... i apologize. more importantly i reaaaally ignored my tank.
well that stops yesterday. i spent the whole day cleaning, fixing, putting, fussing, moving, shuffling, and finally building a proper lighting situation.
i'll post more at some other point on this but bottom line is i bought a light system, that was crap. the company knew it was crap - and paid me back all the money i spent... nice right.
i took those parts that were usable, hit up a fry's electronics and spent some time cutting up my fingers. the photo's are low quality but overall the tank is more or less happy with me, and you can see part of the work i did on the lights. right now, as these were all i had in the parts bin, i've got a 175W 10,000K on one side and a 250W 10,000K (7 mths old mind you) over the other. arriving on thursday will be another 250W fixture and ballast along with 2 15,000K bulbs. I've got 2 24" actinics running on the inside, but foolishly only one set of wires is long enough to reach the ballast.
we'll fix that....
