While cleaning my CPR overflow the air nipple snapped off and is unrepairable. Does anyone have an extra external overflow that they can part with tonight?

i don't.
but can you drill a new hole and glue in an air hose coupler?
it would be the same thing right?

or just drill a hole and stick the air line in it. I used to have the cpr so
I'm trying to remember how it was set up.

I don't have one either.

You could make the broken nipple air tight with some epoxy or something. Then just feed the airline tubing up thru the overflow, so that the end is up at the top of the 'U'. That should get you thru the night.

Then do as JHale suggested, and drill and glue in a new nipple when you have time.

Tragedy averted . Thanks to all from MR who saved the day and my tank. We have a short term fix in place.

Mike (r32brightliner) had an extra overflow but had to pickup his mother at the airport. Liz went down to the airport instead while Mike came up to Norwalk with the overflow. Homedepot was already closed so Alex (Alexxn) donated some plumbing pieces which did the trick.

The external overflow is a gigantic beast at 1200 gph (two 1" overflows). Not good for longterm but it'll hold out for a week or two.We capped one off. My return pump couldnt handle the increased flow so we attached an eheim 1260 with some improvised plumbing.

I'm going to place an order for a new overflow. Let this be a lesson to all with a CPR overflow. Be very careful with the nipple.

Thanks all.
