ok i have almost made 160gal. of r/o water and i am going to mix it up with a bucket of salt. question... ... what dose the term AERATION mean? like put a pump in the tank and miw the water for a period of time, or do i also have to add an air pump to the tank? ty

Aeration should technically mean adding air to the mix. But for our purposes it's more a general term for agitation that also ensures good oxygenation (via surface agitation).

What I used to do was put a powerhead in the bottom of my trash can and have it pointing upwards so it created surface agitation. This was done upon mixing, and the day prior to a water change. Otherwise, when storing the water I just kept the pump off. I don't like using air with saltwater because it creates salt creep and that really messes up my arms badly.
