Anybody seen anything like these? It has just started doing this in the last 6 months or so. The coral seems happy. The growths are eventually covered in tissue.

Some of them have gotten to be the size of a ping-pong ball.

Here are some pics!

Just as an FYI this colony is ~5 years old.

Ya, I've seen this happen on my Stylos. I have no idea what causes it or what it is, but the stylo keeps growing and is fine. Your coral looks like a stylo or pocillopora, not an acro IMO.

Really? What's the tip-off that it is either?

Was sold as a "tri-color" acro many moons ago.

What do LFSes know anyway? :D

(all I knew was it was a tiny frag and did not cost much)

Looks like acrocancerous horriendousis. I think you should sent them to me for quarantine. I will pay for the shipping ;)

Thanx for the kind offer, brown. But not right now. Looking to move, hopefully, before the summer, and I would hate to lost anything during the tank taredown.

Good guess. I just make it out of thin air, as my try on humor. Sorry if it confused people.
