Found this little beauty at work. It is a 12" acrylic cube with 1" thick walls, thus it is around 4g when filled nearly to the top. From what I can gather it was a sample prototype for a surge tank on a temperate system, thus the uber-thick walls and the holes in it.

What should I do with it? I'm thinking a small candy basslet...

I think it's not going to hold water very well with that big circular hole at the bottom ;)

Otherwise, L.carmabi would be really sweet :)

What became of your little shrimp tank?

Both shrimp died despite getting preggers and shedding several times... :? :( Maybe they just have short lifespans.

That tank is still sitting at home waiting for a light, which I am procrastinating on by setting up a different tank. :P

I drilled that with Rich's help. :P The smaller holes were already there. I want to do a Vortech MP10 on the bottom pane but it needs 3/8" thick wall or less. I'll cover the hole with a 1/4" thick circle of acrylic.

Anyone have ideas for a slick looking cover that allows gas exchange? I want something like the window screen with bird netting but a bit more tidy looking.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe some harlequins?
As for the new tank, those colorful mantis shrimp are awefully cool; lets see them try to bust through 1" acrilic  .

Matt I have enough 1/8" clear netting for the top and I suspect I could get my friend to CnC a nice frame for it to sit on the top. I'll whip up a little diagram and show you at MACNA.

Ton and tons of ideas for the tank... just can't post em all. Cool tank LOVE it :D

Found at work?

I bet you can "find" lots of cool aquariums at work. I bet you can even "find" something to put in it.

Nah, I think it's just Gen likes to over-engineer the hell out of everything he builds :D

I say put some gummi fish in it and use it for a candy dish :D

I have a feeling it is not from Gen. There are much better builders the public aquariums use.

Well Gen built a bunch for Steinhart, so I assumed it was a leftover like the one he donated to the club after his talk.
