Hey guys its Chris from Florida here. I was out fishing at Mayport today which is above Jacksonville Fl. While fishing I looked down and saw a bright blue shape in the water that I thought was a badmitting ball. Upon closer inspection I noticed it was a creature Ive never seen in Florida before, it looked too pretty for our waters. I cautiously flipped it over as I didnt want to get stung...it looked like a jellyfish. Turns out it was one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porpita_porpita A Blue button jellyfish (not actually a jellyfish) Does anyone know more about these than wikipedia cares to tell? This time of the year a lot of stuff flows here from the Sargasso sea but these guys (there were about 50 of them) reportedly come from the pacific.
