Vitamin supplements

Does anyone add vitamin supplements to their reef tanks?

I did this over 8 years ago on the advice of a local friend, but stopped dosing it when I ran out. Don't our inhabitants require the addition of vitamins?

I've done it on and off and never found a difference. However, I do feed my fish a variety of foods, so that may help provide them more of the vitamins they need.

I used to add some to my tank for the fish and the corals. Guy at the LFS swore by it. Well, bottle was $35 and I was using one every month. Go figure. :? I stopped using it and I have never seen my fish so active and healthy. IMO, waste of money and time. I buy dry tropical fish flakes with added vitamins and feed them a couple times per week. Seems to work fine. They love it too.

A variety of good nutritous foods is a much better choice.
