I have been using IO salt for well over 10 years, with never a problem. This latest bucket has pieces of plastic bag and also what I would characterize as small "dark" pieces.

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I been concerned?

send me a PM and I will get you in touch with someone from UPG. They'll take care of you. FWIW this is the first I heard of this type of thing happening.

I very much appreciate that, but I've used it in 2 water changes already without any adverse effects. I did seriously consider getting in contact with them, but in the the end I figured a few pieces of a plastic bag would be okay. I've been buying a bucket of IO every month since the summer if 1999, and its always been very good to me.

Thanks for your responses guys!

I remember once they were giving away those little PHs in the bucket and I somehow got a bucket without one.. I emailed there office merely to notify them of the issue and actually told them not to bother with anything but they sent me one anyway... was in my mailbox within a week.
