Hi all.

Skimmer pump gave up the ghost last night.

12 YO Red Sea Berlin

I broke the collection cup years ago. Figure it is time to get a new one, and by coincidence the friendly Drs have them on sale this week.

Some one talk me into or out of one. It is for a 90g mixed reef tank. Low fish load.

I have a very limited footprint in the sump. I'm leaning toward the Coral Vue Reef Octopus XP1000SSS or the Eshopps Economy In-Sump Cone Skimmers (s-150).

Need to decide this evening. Thanks for your help.

I have the Reef octopus NWB-150 running on my 65 gallon - its a serious workhorse.

I have an e-shopps sump(RS-200 ) - its very well made

I liked the needle wheel skimmers... don't know if there's anything else more current though.

The tank is in a occupied portion of the home. How's the noise level?

the loudest item on my tank at this point is my Vortech Mp-40 as it ramps up and down in reef crest mode. The skimmer has a muffler on it - cant hear it unless I have the stand's doors open.

Coral Vue Reef Octopus XP1000SSS has been ordered.

With that many letters and numbers after the name, it's gotta be good.
