New Mantis Shrimp

Purchased this little guy last week. He is a rock mantis shrimp, neogonodactylus oerstedii. He is happily taking frozen mysis and enriched brine. Very fascinating creatures!

Hi Chrispy, long time no see...love the Mantis - I've wanted a Peacock Mantis for a long time now...not sure if Bernie will allow me to have yet another tank in the house(reef, fowlr, soon to be 37 gallon Anenome...) but its on my future list

A small smasher like that would probably be safe with something like damsels in my experience. Cool enough to warrant their own tank though.

I believe mantis are characterized as either smashers or spearers. But, I am a complete novice when it comes to mantis so I will defer to the experts.

Cool, my LFS has a Peacock Mantis. Kinds want to get it, but I have not even got my reef tank wet yet and setting up a second tank is just not in the plans.
