I have this odd macro algae in my tank. For the time being I am planning on just letting it be. Reasoning is it will compete with the nusiance algae and will be easier to deal with via harvesting. My snails seem to be keeping up with the hair algae. Sound like a reasonable plan?

An ID on the alga would be nice. It is in the picture below, top right of the frame.

kinda hard to tell from the pic - kinda looks like Halimeda at this angle...does it have feathery ends to it?

For Eradication, you can dose Kent Tech-M, to over 1500ppm. It wont hurt anything else at high levels...

It is not hard like halimeda. Feels like a regular leaf. Not growing fast so ok as far as I can tell.

I'm not sure what it's called, but I had it in my first reef, a 75g. I let it grow like crazy. Whe I thought it was out of hand, I pulled it all out and that was the end if it. Very manageable.

It's brown or golden brown, right Waz?
