Maybe, because there is none.

You're kidding right?! Many of the posts in that thread are about opinions based on experience.

Well towards the end they kinda got off topic, but no one went into about the growth or coloration for sps pieces using either method and thats kinda what I was looking for but thanks!:D

DING DING DING!!!!!

Let me ask you this, which is the best religion? Which is the best food?

:)

There is no answer, nor is their scientific evidence (that I know of and this is widely discussed) providing evidence either way. Most people find a happy medium in the middle somewhere between wet and dry. Your skimmer will also determine how you skim as each skimmer has a different sweet spot.

Im not saying no, but if the consensus leans towards one way that is the way I would try first. Sheesh, just asking a question and all this sarcastic remarks--im obviously asking because I dont know. The only way I would know is through trial and error but before making a mistake I just wanted to hear what the people had to say. Thats all

I didn't mean for it to be as sarcastic as it sounded. What I was trying to say is that skimming in general is like religion. Everyone has their "best skimmer" and "best way" to use that skimmer. You'll find people who skim dry and love it and those that skim wet and love it. Some people even run two skimmers so that one can be wet and one dry. There is no "better".

If you're looking for "most" i think there was a Poll here a year ago asking:
"Do you skim wet or dry"

Now weather or not people understood the question is another thing. If I were you I'd try both for one month and see which works better for your particular application. It's important to understand as well that no two reefs are alike.

I appreciate that very much and im sorry if I came off as an a$$, I didnt mean it. Ive tried dry skimming and to me, I dont feel like its pulling out as much gunk as I think it should. I have the corallife super skimmer. Right now Im doing it a little wet to see what effects that may have, im also running this with an eco mud system and it did say that skimmers werent neccesary but I beg to differ and thats a whole other issue lol.
