This was sold to me as a Chalice coral but I'm starting to have my doubts... It moves up and down along the edges of the plug as if it were soft to the touch and retracts about a 1/4" back and forth between day and night lights... I don't see any defined mouths and just have no clue what it could be... Definitely too gummy like to be any chalice I've ever seen... I appreciate any help anyone can offer...

So it can be soft and moving with the water flow around the edges and still be a chalice? I've never seen one that moves like that... I can't imagine how it will plate/encrust on anything with those gummy like edges that move with the water flow... Also can't find the mouth(s) so that was another reason I wondered...

X2 chalice.....I have one similar only in red called a flowing lava. Mouths are hard to see because they’re the same color as the body. You can look at night see if puts out any feeders from the mouth.
