Hi all, lately my skimmer's (remora HOB 1200 maxijet) performace has been decreasing. I havent noticed due to being very busy at work but things are starting to go south in my reef and I think it is due in large part to my skimmer no longer working properly. I've taken it apart and tried to clean it and it appears there is some kind of blockage/deposit in the intake tube leading from the pump to the skimmer body. The blockage isnt on the straightaway, making it impossible for me to get to with a brush.

Whats the best way to fix this?

Thanks!

Can you open the plastic screw on the intake pipe and get at it that way?

Oh and if you can run it on a bucket with vinegar and water in the bucket for a few hours then run it on that same bucket with just ro water in it to clean it out it may help clear the blockage.

I use 1 gallon of vinegar and a gallon of ro, then after I rinse it out I use 2 gallons of RO
