re starfish caught from Belmar NJ shore in your aquarium?

My wife just gave me a call and told me she has caught some beautiful starfish from the Jersey shore (Belmar, NJ to be exact) for the aquarium.

I told her that I thought it was not really a good idea for several reasons.

Just wanted to tell the wife that I asked some experts and they advised against it. Don't really want to introduce some unknown species of starfish into my aquarium from the Jersey shore.

Tell her that it is for the starfishs' own good. They are used to much cooler water than our tanks. The change in temp could mess up their metabolism, and they would die quickly.

Yes, buy her something nice so that the next time you want to get something from a store she is cool with it. Better yet, Jer gets really into the thank because I let him help pick things out. His choices are not always my first choice, but he does help a lot with the tank!!!

Time to buy a starfish for her and my tank.
