Hi all,

Has anyone ever moved a tank half way across the country? I have a 7.4g that will be going from NY to TX. Realistically it should take about 2 days. I'm thinking, it's so small that if I put everything, (rock, coral & 2 clowns) in a 5 gallon bucket w a pump and a heater it should be fine. I don't have anything too delicate in there. The mangroves will remain in the tank w the sand and a little bit of water.

Any thoughts/advice? What could go wrong?

If you can run a pump and heater for the two days I wouldn’t see any issues. I recommend filling a second bucket with water to change out after day one so to avoid any ammonia build up.

Would probably bring a small bag of the established sand with you and seed a fresh bag of live sand when you arrive.

I would just bag the mangroves and clean the tank out completely.
