I would like to know if anyone has a fish trap that I can borrow. I need to get out a lemonpeel and a coral beauty out of my 120g. My wife want a flame angel and I have to get these out. Thank you.

I've got a really nice Flame that has been a model citizen in my reef. I'm looking to switch him out for a tang if you're also looking to get rid of a tang. Sps or LPS frags would also be welcomed.

I find a big net to be better than a fish trap. Turn off your pumps and feed. With the top totally removed get ready with your net. In one fell swoop (you have to think like a bird of prey) you swoop in with the net and pull it out. The whole motion should be done with the fierce quickness of a bird of prey. If done right in under a 1/4 of a second you'll have nabbed the fish. The key is hitting the water with all of your force to get that net to the desired depth instantly. The quick movement will often stun the fish for a split second giving you enough time to grab the angel.

I find this the easiest way especially with rock all over. I know that my fish will come to the surface when i am ready to feed them. Take the biggest net that you can get and put it in the tank and leave it there for a few minutes. If you have 2 nets even better one on each side. It is helpfull to have someone else there with you. Net in each hand and other person with food. Grab the nets have the other person feed and when they goto the top come up from under them. Flake is the easiest so that they come right to the top and try to use bigger pieces so they dont spread around. I know this sounds archaic, i just found that it works for me.

Just caught my Blue Hippo Tang after three months of trying. I tried all type of fish trap with no luck including the soda bottle trap. What worked for me was to get a large 10" net and leave it in the tank. I fed my fishes with a long tube and the food dropped into the net. Once the Hippo Tang got use to eating inside the net, bang. I did not go after the hippo Tang the first time he went into the net. I let him get use to eating inside the net. This only took a week and a half before I finally caught the Hippo Tang.

What worked for me was after the lights go off wait an hour and turn them back on and be ready with the net. The fish are stunned and pretty easy to catch. Ive also done the leave the net in the tank for a few days. You only get one shot with that so you have to make it count!!
