What a shame.....I haven't been to Sea Vision since April..(my tank is at capacity and nothing is dying...). It appears that they were probably counting on a bigger installation/maintenance business. It was not SW only...they also had a large, and healthy, FW selection. I wouldn't come down too hard on the comment about importing and marking up....Lots of other places have done that. Aquatic somethingor other on Woodhaven, the place that closed after the blackout, always used to import their stock from Bali, or some other place in Indonesia. The fact is that Sea Vision was able to sell their stock at the same price, sometimes less, as the on-line companies. I was actually able to get a 3-4" Crocea for $40...and, unlike any crocea I ever got before, it is still alive and thriving...as is the derasa I bought at a similar price. Personally, I highly doubt the percentage markup quoted on Craig's list...if so, they would still be in business. But importing directly does cut costs, involving middlemen, and allows those savings to be past on to us, while still allowing the business to profit. Also improves the health of the livestock, due to fewer changes of environment. The downside is that it may leave you dependent on just one or a few distributers...the guy at Woodhaven would only deal with his single company...even though he complained that they only sent him large corals that were harder to sell. He refused to deal with other suppliers. At any rate, while Sea Vision wasn't the largest place, and didn't have the hugest selection, they had the overall healthiest stock, best prices, and most knowledgable and honest salespeople I have seen in any one location, at least on the times that I was there. Take care, Eric
