Okay, after a 3 month absence, my tank looks ... better than I expected it to be, though not good by any stretch of the imagination. It's in dire need of a water change, and I'm actually afraid to test my parameters.
Losses include:
- my huge orange zoa rocks (buried by the green palys)
- lemon palys (I think)
- some other smaller assorted zoas (though none of the expensive ones)
- all of my frogspawn (which is weird because the torch and hammer have gotten bigger - it must have fallen someplace. I don't even see it.
)
- my entire hammer
- part of my lobo (stung by my pearl bubble)
- two small monti frags (but I had four to start with of the exact same coral, so they are all fine)
- part of my stylophora colony (fell over and didn't get enough light)
- most of my yellow finger gorgonian
- most of my pipe organ, though it might recover
- green nepthea, unless it's fallen way in the back someplace and I can't see it.
Things that are doing inexplicably well:
- Pearl bubble coral has exploded
- My Acan lords have at least one new head, if not two
- all zoas that got enough light (including PPEs, Triple Reds and AOGs) have gotten really big
- birdnest SPS is HUGE (though a bit browner now)
- superman monti has gotten much bigger and has retained its color
- favia which was dying has gotten shadowed by my devil's hand and anthelia and is now making a comeback.
Things have have taken over:
- stupid red mushrooms
- stupid anthelia
- stupid green palys.
arhghahghghghlidglkh.
My peppermint shrimp must also be dead as I have, for the first time, aiptasia in my tank. A lot of them.
And thus the rebuilding begins. I will be posting before and after photos soon.
