Tank overflow :(

So my tank overflowed today and I still don't know why. I only lost about 2g's of water so it's not that bad but I don't know what caused it. I wasn't around so my mom just plugged of everything until I got home. When i came home i looked around for cracks and such and found nothing. I plugged in the return and my durso appeared to be clogged, with what I'll never know. So I toook the durso out to find out if it was something in the plumbing below and it was definately the durso.

Heres the part that gets me, i took apart the durso and there was nothing inside the pipe AT ALL. So i just put it back into the bulkhead and wallaaaaaah the problem was fixed. Anyone have any ideas why it overflowed?

No turbos, astreas, or any snails of that kind to clog the pipe. I just dont want this to happen again

Wow Kris that sux. Yeah I was wondering if there was any signe of leaking from the tank and the actual overflow box as well.

My girlfriends sister was actually in the room as it happen. Me and the gf had just gone to the store and she called me to tell me the water was going over the top of the tank. My mom just pulled the plugs out of the wall and dried as much as she could. So the tank definately overflowed I just can't figure out why....

Pulled the durso out and plugged in the pump and the tank worked fine, put the durso back in and the tnak was runnin normally again. I cleaned nothing just took it out and put it back in and the tanks running again.

Just frustrating casue I don't know why it did that and it could happen again I'm assuming.

Sounds like an air bubble formed and blocked the drainpipe. I know precious little about this stuff, but my master plumber always is concerned about this and designs things accordingly.

Yup did that. I cleaned it out the other day, when I was changing water.:scratchch
