ahhhh!! @# - maxima clam

went home during my lunch break for something. found that my maxima got turned over and it's foot and muscle gone. right now it does not close because of missing muscle and it's shrank up. is it already dead or a gonner

the maxima is 1 inch

same had happen to mine awhile ago. needless to say, my snails n shrimps had a nice meal after.
i've learn not to put 1" max in main tank.

Doesn't sound too promising. Once they stop closing and begin to shring inside the shell its usually done.

Never glue a living clam to rock.

I highly recommend this book to any person considering keeping a tridacnid clam. Either purchase it or borrow it from someone before buying your next clam.

i don't mean glue glue to a rock more of secure it in a rock on one side of the shell so it does not get knock over
